David Smith

Chief Technology Officer

David Smith is Chief Technology Officer at Aptarro, where he leads the technology strategy behind the company’s next stage of growth. As Aptarro advances reimbursement intelligence, David is scaling the platform, engineering organization, and technical foundation needed to turn decades of revenue cycle expertise into technology that learns, adapts, and improves with every claim and payer decision.

David brings more than 25 years of experience scaling mission-critical software across healthcare, payments, financial services, and SaaS. Most recently, he served as CTO at UserTesting, following technology leadership roles at R1 RCM, VisitPay, Zapproved, Wolters Kluwer, ACTIVE Network, and ServiceU. Throughout his career, he has modernized complex platforms, built global teams, and delivered systems designed for the reliability, security, and scale that healthcare demands.

David holds degrees in Computer Information Systems, Economics and Spanish from Harding University. Outside of work, David enjoys traveling, competitive horseback riding, snowboarding, mountain biking, and skydiving.
